To help with construction at the school (tiling,painting,stairs,benches,irrigation,gardening,stone walls...)
are scheduled for the following days:

We meet at the H St. Trolley at Chula Vista at 8:30 am to carpool down.
a $10 donation for materiales is asked for each Saturday

Join James Hubbell and other volunteers

Once a month as they continue to work on the dream of building an inspirational learning environment for the residents of Colonia La Esperanza

We meet at the parking area of the H street Trolley in Chula Vista, CA at 8:30 a.m. on the Saturday listed in the calendar.
Look for Jim's white mini van. Expect to arrive in the Colonia around 9:30 a.m., work until 3:00 p.m. and be back in Chula Vista around 4:00 p.m.

In general, it's helpful if you bring work gloves, a straw hat and/or any general tools, like a drill, hammer or sander.
We take a lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Bring your own lunch.
Beginners and professionals are welcome. You can bring your kids!

If you try to find the schools on your own, ask a Taxi cab driver to direct you to:
Colonia La Esperanza in the Subdelegacion Sanchez Taboada of La Mesa, Tijuana.
The telephone from inside Tijuana is 626-46-98 or 660-31-94.

We need donations to pay for building materials.
Suggested donation 10$ or more per person per workshop
You are invited to take the opportunity to become a "Friend", "Patron", "Sponsor", or a "School Builder"...
by making a larger donation towards construction of the school or sponsoring a child's education

La Rosa Blanca

Each summer we organize this special hands-on workshop for architect and landscape students.

   James Hubbell has decided to conduct the La Rosa Blanca
Design/Build Construction workshop at the Colegio La Esperanza
again this August 21, 2010  It's a camp out experience with
delicious Mexican food and real organic architecturing.   Anyone with
an interest in Art or building can participate.   Click on the flyer below for a

Saturday, November 20the the Colegio La Esperanza will present the Gran Kermesse of the Mexican Revolution in Colonia La Esperanza, in La Mesa, Tijuana featuring authenticMexican Cuisine, traditional Music and Dances of the differente states of Mexico,
games, competitions, lotteries and tours of the famous buildings. The Community of San Diego and Tijuana are invited to the Festival and Open House to share the day of fun, music and good food and see the installations of the La Esperanza kindergarten and elementary schools which are famous for their architecture and tile mosaics designed by the famous artist James Hubbell of Santa Ysabel, California. The La Esperanza schools are also known for their Ballet, Music and Arts programs

The Festival starts at 10:00 am

There will also be a VAN (pay driver $5 dlls) at the H St. Trolley on November 18th
